Have you been thinking of learning the art of skydiving? If so, there are a few ways for you to learn, two of which are static line skydiving and tandem skydiving. While both techniques will teach you how to skydive, they are very different in terms of their methods. Learn more about static line skydiving and tandem skydiving below:
Static line skydiving
When learning to skydive, static line skydiving is the most common choice. This method of teaching allows you to do your first solo jump after just a day of ground training. Every time you jump, until you have completed your training, a static line is attached to you while jumping out of the plane. Once you have jumped, the line will pull your parachute open, allowing you to glide down to the floor on your own. The number of jumps it takes to pass this level of training will vary from person to person, with some having to take up to 50 jumps. Regardless of the number of jumps you need to do; you can rest assured that static line skydiving is an effective way to learn how to skydive.
Tandem skydiving
Tandem skydiving is another method of learning to skydive. This is a much-preferred method of learning for skydivers who are nervous for their first jump. This method includes two skydivers – the professional and the student – who are linked to one another jumping out of the plane together. The professional will be in control of the entire event, guiding you from the plane, back down to the ground. Tandem skydiving may take longer than static line skydiving as the student cannot pass the training without completing multiple stages of learning, including tandem jumps, guided freefalls and, eventually, solo jumps.
