Welcome to Icarus Skydiving School & Air Wear. By booking a tandem skydive, course, jump, equipment service, or making an enquiry through our website, you agree to the terms and conditions below.
Please read these terms carefully before making a booking or payment.
1. About Icarus
Icarus Skydiving School & Air Wear’s head office operates from Rand Airport, Germiston, South Africa.
We provide tandem skydiving, Accelerated Free Fall training, static line courses, display jumps, skydiving equipment support, rigging, packing, repairs and related services.
Our drop zones are situated on the outskirts of OR Tambo airspace, approximately 45–55 minutes from Johannesburg central.
2. Bookings
All bookings are subject to availability, weather, aircraft schedule, instructor availability, air traffic control, safety requirements and operational conditions.
A booking is only confirmed once Icarus has received the required payment and has confirmed the booking details with the customer.
Customers must provide accurate information when booking, including name, contact details, weight, age, preferred date and any relevant medical or safety information.
Icarus reserves the right to refuse, reschedule or cancel a booking if the customer does not meet safety, age, weight or operational requirements.
3. Payments
Payment in full is required on the date of booking unless otherwise agreed in writing by Icarus.
All prices displayed on the website are exclusive of VAT, taxes, duties, transaction fees, bank charges or any other applicable charges, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Any applicable tax, processing fee, payment gateway fee, bank fee or additional charge may be added at checkout or confirmed separately by Icarus before payment is completed.
Payments may be processed through Shopify, Yoco, bank transfer or any other approved payment method provided by Icarus.
Proof of payment may be required to confirm a course or tandem jump booking.

4. Tandem Skydives
All tandem skydive prices listed above are exclusive of VAT, taxes, duties, transaction fees, bank charges or any other applicable charges, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
A minimum of four skydivers is required to open for weekday jumping.
Tandem skydivers must meet the following requirements:
Minimum age: 12 years old
Under 18: Parental or legal guardian consent required
Minimum weight: 25kg
Maximum weight: 100kg
Icarus may refuse a tandem jump if the participant does not meet the age, weight, consent, medical, safety or operational requirements.
We accept solo jumpers on weekend and groups of 4+ on weekdays.
5. Accelerated Free Fall Course
The Accelerated Freefall Course pricing is based on passing the objective of each level or jump on the first attempt.
All Accelerated Free Fall prices are exclusive of VAT, taxes, duties, transaction fees, bank charges or any other applicable charges, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
The Accelerated Free Fall weekend price includes use of a jumpsuit, helmet, goggles, altimeter and student parachute system.
If a student needs to repeat a jump because the required objective was not met, the repeat jump must be paid for again before the student can continue.
Accelerated Free Fall students must meet the following requirements:
Minimum age: 16 years old
Under 18: Parental or legal guardian consent required
Maximum weight: 100kg
Once proof of payment is received, Icarus will confirm the ground school training date, jump date, directions to the airfield and meeting time.
We accept solo jumpers on weekend and groups of 4+ on weekdays.
6. Static Line Course
All Static Line prices listed are exclusive of VAT, taxes, duties, transaction fees, bank charges or any other applicable charges, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Static Line students must meet the following requirements:
Maximum weight: 100kg
Payment in full is required on the date of booking.
Proof of payment should be emailed to confirm the course booking.
We accept solo jumpers on weekend and groups of 4+ on weekdays.
7. Weather, Air Traffic and Operational Conditions
Skydiving is weather dependent and subject to operational conditions.
Your jump or course may be delayed, rescheduled or cancelled due to weather, air traffic control, aircraft issues, instructor availability, safety concerns or any other reason outside the control of Icarus.
If your jump does not take place due to weather, air traffic control, aircraft problems or another reason outside our control, Icarus will offer either a re-booking or a full refund.
8. Re-booking, Cancellations and No-shows
Icarus will re-book your jump without penalty if you notify us at least 4 working days before your scheduled jump.
A no-show or change of plans without prior notice will result in forfeiture of all money paid.
Bookings that are paid and subsequently cancelled may be non-refundable, except where a refund is required under the specific re-booking, cancellation or weather policy described above.
9. Age, Weight and Safety Requirements
Customers are responsible for ensuring that they meet the age, weight and safety requirements before making a booking.
Icarus may refuse participation if a customer does not meet the required safety standards, age limits, weight limits, consent requirements or any other operational requirement.
If a customer is refused participation due to incorrect information, failure to disclose relevant information, or non-compliance with requirements, Icarus may charge an admin fee or refuse a refund in line with the cancellation and refund policy.
10. Medical Conditions and Fitness
Customers must inform Icarus of any medical condition, injury, disability, medication, or other issue that may affect their ability to skydive safely.
Icarus may request additional information or refuse participation if there is a safety concern.
Customers participate at their own risk and must follow all safety instructions given by instructors, riggers, pilots and Icarus staff.
11. Customer Conduct
Customers must follow all instructions provided by Icarus staff, instructors and safety personnel.
Icarus reserves the right to refuse participation to any person who appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs, behaves aggressively, refuses to follow instructions, or creates a safety risk
No refund will be given where participation is refused due to unsafe or inappropriate conduct.
12. Photos, Video and Media Permission
By participating in an Icarus activity, customers acknowledge that photos, videos or other media may be captured during the activity.
Unless the customer informs Icarus otherwise in writing before the activity, the customer gives Icarus permission to use photos, videos and related media for website, social media, marketing, promotional and training purposes.
Customers who do not want their image or video used publicly must notify Icarus in writing before the jump, course or activity.
13. Video and Photo Packages
Video and photo packages are only included where specifically selected and paid for.
Video and photo package prices are exclusive of VAT, taxes, duties, transaction fees, bank charges or any other applicable charges, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Icarus will make reasonable efforts to capture and provide video or photo content, but technical issues, equipment issues, weather, safety conditions or operational limitations may affect the final result.
14. Equipment, Rigging and Air Wear
Icarus Air Wear provides equipment support, rigging, packing, repairs, flight suits, skydiving accessories and related services.
Equipment enquiries, repairs, rigging and packing services are assessed individually based on customer needs, equipment condition, availability and safety requirements.
Prices for equipment, rigging, packing, repairs, Air Wear products and related services are exclusive of VAT, taxes, duties, transaction fees, bank charges or any other applicable charges, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
Icarus reserves the right to refuse equipment work where equipment is unsafe, unsuitable, incomplete or outside the scope of services provided.
15. Display Jumps and Events
Display jumps and event-related skydiving activities depend on location, landing area, permissions, weather, airspace, safety, operational conditions and legal requirements.
Submitting an enquiry does not guarantee that a display jump can take place.
Icarus will assess each event request individually and advise what may be possible.
Prices for display jumps, events or custom services are exclusive of VAT, taxes, duties, transaction fees, bank charges or any other applicable charges, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
16. Website Information
Icarus aims to keep website information accurate and up to date. However, prices, services, availability, policies and operational details may change without notice.
All prices displayed on the website are exclusive of VAT, taxes, duties, transaction fees, bank charges or any other applicable charges, unless expressly stated otherwise in writing.
If there is a conflict between website pricing, checkout pricing and written confirmation from Icarus, the written confirmation from Icarus will apply.
17. Limitation of Liability
Skydiving and related activities involve inherent risks. By booking or participating, customers acknowledge and accept these risks.
Icarus, its instructors, staff, contractors, partners and service providers will not be liable for loss, injury, delay, cancellation, damage or expense except where required by applicable law.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
ALL services - are regulated by the Parachute association of South Africa - for standard operating procedures to be followed.

By making a booking, submitting a form, making payment or participating in an Icarus activity, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
